2023 marks PressBox’s seventh annual Best Of edition celebrating the top people, performances and moments of the year.
Ashley Roman
Not once, not twice … you need bigger numbers than that when discussing Coppin State volleyball star Ashley Roman.
She earned her fifth consecutive first-team All-MEAC honor and fourth straight MEAC Defensive Player of the Year award in 2023. The libero recorded 458 digs in the fall, adding to her MEAC-best career total of 2,402.
Roman helped the Eagles to a 90-51 record during the past five seasons.
