Here are my top pickups entering Week 4:
Trevor Lawrence, QB, Jacksonville Jaguars: He’s carved up some of the better defenses in the league the last two weeks, and the schedule is pretty favorable the rest of the way. With bye weeks coming up, Lawrence is a player I want if I need to stream a quarterback.
Jamaal Williams, RB, Detroit Lions: He was listed in this piece last week, and if he’s still available, go get him immediately. He had 20 rushing attempts and two touchdowns on Sunday, and he leads the NFL in carries inside the 10. If he continues to get that kind of usage, he becomes a weekly starter.
Alexander Mattison, RB, Minnesota Vikings: Mattison is one of the top handcuffs, so it’s unlikely he’s on waivers, but if for some odd reason he is, you want him on your roster. Dalvin Cook left Sunday’s game with a shoulder injury, the same shoulder that held him out of multiple games last season. Mattison has always performed well when called upon.
Khalil Herbert, RB, Chicago Bears: Here’s another NFC North running back to consider. Herbert was terrific on Sunday after David Montgomery was forced out with a “lower leg” injury. He rushed for 157 yards and two scores and was the top-scoring non-quarterback in fantasy. If Montgomery misses extended time, Herbert is a solid FLEX option with upside.
Brian Robinson, RB, Washington Commanders: He’s still on the physically unable to perform (PUP) list for at least another week, but it was no secret this summer that Robinson had won the lead-back duties in D.C. Antonio Gibson hasn’t done anything to keep Robinson from taking the starting job once healthy.
Chris Olave, WR, New Orleans Saints: He’s heavily rostered, but get him on your squad if possible. His 147 receiving yards were the most by a rookie on the young season, but what’s more important is that was the second consecutive game in which he was targeted 13 times.
Romeo Doubs, WR, Green Bay Packers: Doubs is another rookie receiver who took advantage of added targets with Sammy Watkins and fellow rookie wideout Christian Watson out due to injury. Doubs was a popular sleeper pick entering the season and he’s lived up to the hype.
Greg Dortch, WR, Arizona Cardinals: I’ve been reluctant to mention him in previous weeks because I thought he was just a one-week wonder. I was clearly wrong. The Cards have put a lot of faith in him and he’s likely to get even more looks, with A.J. Green the latest Cardinals receiver to be forced out the lineup.
Tyler Conklin, TE, New York Jets: He’s averaging eight targets each week, which is top-five at the position. Joe Flacco has always favored his tight ends, so it remains to be seen if the volume stays the same once Zach Wilson returns to the lineup, but there aren’t many tight ends getting that many looks each week.
David Njoku, TE, Cleveland Browns: Njoku has always had the talent, but his opportunities were limited. That’s not the case anymore after a career-high nine receptions in Week 3. If that production continues, he becomes a must-start each week.
Philadelphia Eagles, D/ST: Here’s another one that was listed last week, and they were phenomenal. They sacked Carson Wentz nine times and it wasn’t until the final minutes that the Commanders got their points. The Eagles’ defensive line is very talented and the sacks will continue to pile up against some weak offensive lines in the upcoming weeks.
